Writing Time
I've tweeted about it a few times but I think it's time to fully introduce a series of essays I'll be releasing in the coming weeks. I'm a writing a series of essays on the importance of lighting - that in and of itself is pretty straightforward. The next question is…why?
So many times in discussions, both real and virtual, I've had with interior designers I hear of their struggles to explain the importance of lighting to their clients. They're trying to get their clients to pitch in for new amazing lighting, but they just can't seem to make the sale. Somehow, communicating what makes great lighting so important get's lost. So I've decided to write a series brief essays arguing for the importance of lighting. These are not lectures, just solid, brief explanations of why lighting is so important and why any home or business owner needs to consider upgrading their lighting as part of any redesign.
I was going to write one long essay and then realized the likelihood of someone sitting through a 4000 word piece was pretty remote. So instead I've opted to break up the essay into for parts each based on a type of space that requires amazing lighting:
- Places to Live
- Places of Work
- Places to Heal
- Places to Learn
