As a designer, one of my pet peeves I have is when fixture manufacturers take LEDs and jam them into traditional form factors without really thinking about what LED does best. Surely, someday soon we will have a totally acceptable A-lamp and MR16 LED lamps, but that's not what makes LED exciting. What makes it an exciting technology is all of the things you can do differently with it. Walking the shows of LDF12 I came across lots of use of LED but these five fixtures were prime examples of how to use LED to make a bold design statement and not replicate a traditional lamp.
